What Is Medical Massage?
What Is Medical Massage
Medical massage is a focused, results‑oriented form of massage therapy used to address specific health concerns. You may also hear it called ‘clinical’ or ‘treatment’ massage. Instead of a general full‑body session, medical massage starts with an assessment: what hurts, how it affects your daily life, and what your goals are. From there, Bob designs a hands‑on treatment plan, then reassesses to see how your body responds and what should change next time. This approach is often used alongside care from your doctor, physical therapist, chiropractor, or other providers to support pain relief, healing, and better function.
How Bob Uses Medical Massage Techniques

Myofascial Release
Sustained pressure and stretching to soften tight connective tissue (fascia). This helps ease chronic tension, improve posture, and restore easier, more comfortable movement.

Trigger Point Therapy
Focused work on small “knots” in the muscles that can cause pain in other areas of the body. Releasing these points can reduce referred pain, headaches, and stubborn areas of tightness.

Neuromuscular Therapy
A precise, clinical modality that combines pressure, stretching, and positioning to interrupt the pain–spasm–pain cycle and help restore healthier muscle function.

Deep Tissue Sculpting
Slow, specific pressure into deeper layers of muscle and fascia to address long‑standing tightness and restricted movement, especially in the neck, shoulders, low back, and hips.

Orthopedic Massage
Assessment‑driven massage focused on joints, muscles, and connective tissue involved in injury or overuse. The goal is to reduce pain, improve range of motion, and support your return to daily activities.

Proprioceptive Stretching
Advanced stretching techniques that gently engage your muscles, then relax them, to increase flexibility, reduce guarding, and help your body relearn healthier movement patterns.
